3W Action Register

What is the 3W Action Register?

The 3W Action Register is a repository for actions or tasks to be carried out – it is an accountability tool for the leadership team.  Actions are the operational response to the strategic conversations that drive change in the business.

3W stands for What, Who and When.

  • What is the task or action.
  • Who is responsible for the action.
  • When is the action due.

This is not designed to replace your personal productivity tools, but to provide a central record of actions the leadership team has committed to and defined.

How to Create an Action

Actions can be created from any RealTime CEO screen.

  1. Click the +3W button (top right-hand corner of the screen).
  2. Enter the action description under What.
  3. Enter Who is responsible for the action.
  4. Select a due date from the calendar under When.
  5. Click Done or Create another.

The action will be added to the 3W screen.  On this screen you can:

  • Change the order of tasks by clicking the header names/arrows.
  • Mark them Complete.
  • Show only outstanding actions, or all actions (included Completed) by ticking the Show Completed Actions checkbox.
